How does AutoInstall SSL® work?

AutoInstall SSL® automates the entire SSL certificate lifecycle - generation, validation, installation and renewal. After your certificate is installed, it checks your certificates every day and automatically renews and installs an updated certificate before the current one expires.

Install once. Automate every renewal. Never manage SSL certificates manually again.

  • Generates the CSR
  • Stores the key securely
  • Places the validation value (supports file and DNS)
  • Validates the domain
  • Downloads the certificate
  • Installs the certificate
  • Verifies the certificate
  • Renews certificates before they expire

Why automation isn’t optional anymore

SSL certificate validity is getting shorter. Today’s current maximum validity is 199 days, but more reductions are on the way. The CA/Browser Forum has approved a phased rollout that will cut maximum validity to 100 days by 2027, and just 47 days by 2029.

Shorteningl Lifespans Small

This major shift is being driven by major browser vendors like Apple and Google, backed by security guidance from bodies like NIST, who argue that shorter lifespans reduce the window of exposure if a certificate is ever compromised, and force faster adoption of modern security practices.

The catch is that shorter certificates mean far more renewals on your end. What used to be an annual task is about to turn into 8+ renewals a year, per certificate. Manually installing, validating, and reinstalling simply doesn’t scale at that pace.

That’s exactly the gap automation is built to close.
